What is Uniswap (UNI)?

Uniswap is a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange that allows fast & efficient trading of ERC-20 tokens. ERC-20 tokens are used on the Ethereum blockchain.

Uniswap is an open-source software with no orderbook or centralized party. The exchange is powered by the Ethereum token Uniswap (UNI).

Instead of market makers, Uniswap uses liquidity pools, with a goal of creating more efficient markets. Smart contracts are used to define the standard way to make compatible liquidity pools and markets.

Each pool is defined by a smart contract, which allows tokens to be exchanged and liquidity to be added.
