What is Zilliqa (ZIL)?

Zilliqa is a public blockchain designed for scalability and speed, with the ability to process thousands of transactions per second. The native Zilliqa token (ZIL) powers the blockchain network. Used for processing transactions, executing smart contracts and staking.

The Zilliqa blockchain uses a sharded architecture. This allows for scalability, increased speed, low fees, and the ability to process micro-transactions.

Enterprise Solutions – Being able to processes large volumes of transactions provides a variety of enterprise use cases, including finance, entertainment & advertising.

Scilla (Smart Contract Language) – Scilla is the smart contract language developed for Zilliqa which solves known security issues, and helps developers write secure contracts.

Zilliqa Consensus Protocol – A Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) protocol is implemented within each shard. PBFT can leverage small shards and provides transaction finality with no confirmations needed.
